Akershus fortress in Oslo
Situated in strategic position on the sea, this fortress is a good place from where to enjoy a fantastic view of the fjord. The fortress was built in 1300 on the model of a feudal castle, with 4 large towers, and it was readjusted both inside and outside at the beginning of the XVII century, following the Renaissance style. For years it was used as the royal family residency, and still today it is possible to watch the Changing of the Guard, which takes place every day at 13.30 pm.
