
Oslo boasts one of the most modern and efficient transport network in the world, which includes tram, bus, underground, bicycles, trains and ferry boats. All major tourist sites are easily reachable by public transports.
Bus, Tram, Metro and Ferry boats
Bus, Tram, underground and ferry boats in Oslo are managed by the same municipal company, Ruter, so you can make use of all these transports with the same travel ticket. Tickets can be purchased from the automated machines which are spread everywhere in the city, or at post offices and tourist offices.
One single ride is valid 1 hour from use, and has a cost of 36 NOK when purchased on board, or 25 NOK if previously purchased.
A daily ticket costs 65 NOK, and is valid 24 hours from first use on all means of transport. Finally, the weekly card costs 200 NOK.
The most convenient travel solution is probably the “Flexikort”, which costs 180 NOK and entitles the holder to 8 rides each with a duration of 1 hour on all means of transport.
The Underground, known as T-bane, operates every day from 5.30 am to 00.30 am, and consists of 7 lines, all connected with Oslo central station.
The tram network , “Oslotrikken” includes 6 lines, crossing the city centre and connecting with the suburban areas.
On Friday and Saturday night there is a night tram and bus service , operating from 1 am to 4 am. Tickets cost 50 NOK for each ride. This is a special service not included in the Oslo Pass.

By bicycle
Oslo offers an innovative bike rental service called “Bysykkel” which permits to move around in a comfortable and ecologic way. Bicycles can be hired and returned at one of the 94 rental points spread around the city, from 6 o’clock in the morning to midnight. The cost for the rental is 80 NOK for 24 hours, with a minimum use of 3 consecutive hours.

Ferry boats
There are many ways to discover the beauties of this charming city. One of the most spectacular is surely a boat cruise on the Oslo Fjord.
Ferry boats depart from the Radhusbrygge Pier n.3, opposite the Town Hall. The cost of the trip ranges from 130 to 390 NOK, depending on the duration.
